Rats and mice
Rats and mice come in for food and warmth, usually through a gap under a door, a broken subfloor vent or along a pipe into the roof. Baiting alone only empties the house for the next lot. We find how they are getting in, seal what can be sealed on the day, set traps and lockable bait stations where children and pets cannot reach, and come back in about two weeks to check. The return visit is in the price.
What is included
- Inspection of roof space, subfloor, kitchen and outside walls
- Lockable, tamper-resistant bait stations and snap traps
- Small gaps sealed on the day with steel mesh and sealant
- A follow-up visit at about two weeks, included
- Written report with a map of stations and every entry point found
- A quote for bigger proofing work, such as vents and door seals
How we do it
Find the way in
We follow droppings, rub marks and gnawing back to the gap. Mice need about a pencil width, rats a thumb width.
Set and seal
Traps and locked stations go in along their runs. Gaps we can close on the day are closed.
Come back and check
Around two weeks later we check activity, remove what is caught, and refill or pull stations as needed.
Signs you need this
- Scurrying or gnawing in the ceiling or walls after dark
- Dark droppings in the pantry, under the sink or behind the stove
- Chewed food packets, pet food bags or wiring
- Greasy rub marks along skirting boards or around a pipe hole
- A pet staring at one spot on the wall or the oven
