Common questions

What people ask before they book

Straight answers on price, timing, safety and what one visit can and cannot do.

Licensed pest technicians

How much does pest control cost?

A single treatment for cockroaches, ants or spiders starts at $220. A wasp nest is $180. Rats and mice start at $260 with the follow-up visit included. A termite inspection is $290 fixed for a standard house, and possum proofing starts at $350. Termite treatment is quoted per job after an inspection. All prices include GST, and you get the final price before any treatment starts.

How soon can you come out?

Active wasp nests and rodents are usually seen within one to two working days. Cockroach, ant and spider jobs and termite inspections are normally booked within the week. If you have found live termites, call us and leave them alone until we get there. We will fit you in as early as we can.

Is the treatment safe around children and pets?

We plan the job around who lives in the house. Gel baits go into cracks, hinges and appliance voids, and rodent bait sits inside locked stations, so there is nothing on benches or floors to touch. Where a spray is needed, we tell you which areas to keep clear of and for how long, and it is written on your report. Tell us about fish tanks, birds, pregnancy or asthma when you book. No pesticide is risk free, which is why we use as little as the job needs.

Do I need to leave the house during treatment?

Usually not for baiting, gel work, rodent jobs or inspections. For a spray treatment inside or under the house, we ask you to stay out of the treated rooms until surfaces are dry, which is typically two to four hours. Pets should stay off treated outdoor areas until dry as well. The exact times for your job are written on the report we leave with you.

Are your technicians licensed and insured?

Yes. Every technician holds a pest control licence issued by the Victorian Department of Health, which is required to use pesticides as a business in Victoria. We carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Licence details and a certificate of currency are available on request before we start.

What warranty do you give?

The warranty period is written on your report. It is 3 months for rodents and German cockroaches, and 6 months for general cockroach, ant and spider treatments. If the same pest returns in that time, we come back and re-treat at no charge. A wasp nest still active after 7 days is treated again free. Termite work comes with its own written terms and needs a yearly inspection to stay valid.

Which suburbs do you cover?

We are based in Footscray and cover Seddon, Yarraville, Kingsville, West Footscray, Maidstone and Maribyrnong. If you are a suburb or two further out, ring and ask. We would rather tell you honestly that we cannot get there quickly than book a time we will not keep.

Will one visit get rid of them for good?

Sometimes, and we will tell you up front when it will not. A wasp nest is normally one visit. German cockroaches usually need a second visit because eggs hatch after the first. Rodents need a follow-up to check the entry points held. No honest pest controller can promise total eradication for ever, because new pests arrive from next door and the garden. What we can do is remove this lot and close off how they got in.
