Switchboard upgrades

If your board still has ceramic fuses, or breakers with no safety switches, it was built for a house with far fewer appliances. We replace it with a new enclosure, a main switch and a combined breaker and safety switch on each circuit. The power is off for most of a working day. Switchboard work is prescribed work, so a licensed electrical inspector checks it independently as well.

How we do it
- 01We look at the boardSend a photo or we call past. We check the supply, the main earth and how many circuits you have.
- 02Fixed price in writingYou get one price for the whole change-over, with anything that could add to it listed up front.
- 03Change-over dayPower goes off in the morning. The new board is fitted, wired, tested and labelled, usually by mid afternoon.
- 04Inspection and certificateA licensed inspector checks the work and you receive the Certificate of Electrical Safety.

- Ceramic fuses with fuse wire where you would expect switches
- No switch on the board with a test button
- A warm, fishy or burning smell near the board
- Lights dip when the kettle or air conditioner starts
