Power points and lighting
from $190
Older houses in the inner north were wired with one or two power points a room, which is why there is a power board behind every couch. We add double power points, swap halogen downlights for LEDs, and wire outdoor lights, sensor lights and ceiling fans. The price depends on how the cable gets there. A point on an inside wall with roof access above is simple. Solid brick takes longer.
What is included
- Double power points, with USB outlets if you want them
- LED downlights to replace halogens or old fittings
- Outdoor, garden and sensor lighting with weatherproof fittings
- Ceiling fans supplied and fitted, or yours installed
- New circuits protected by a safety switch, as the rules require
- Certificate of Electrical Safety for the work
How we do it
- 01Tell us what and whereA list and a couple of photos is enough for a price on most power point and lighting jobs.
- 02One price for the listWe price the whole list as one job, so adding a second or third point costs less than the first.
- 03Fitted and tidiedCable is run through the roof or under the floor where possible. We vacuum up before we leave.
- 04Tested and certifiedEvery new point and fitting is tested, then the certificate is sent with your invoice.
Signs you need this
- Power boards or double adaptors in most rooms
- Extension leads run under rugs or through doorways
- Halogen downlights that run hot and blow often
- Power points that are loose, cracked or no longer grip a plug
- A dark side path or driveway with no outside light
