Rental electrical safety checks

Rental properties in Victoria need an electrical safety check every two years by a licensed electrician, and the smoke alarms need testing every year. We test the switchboard, the safety switches, the power points and the fixed fittings, then write up what we found. If something needs repair you get a separate price and can decide what to do. We book the time with your tenant or your agent.
What is included

- Every safety switch trip tested with a meter
- Smoke alarms tested and their expiry dates recorded
- A written report with the date, the findings and who did the check
- A separate fixed price for any repairs that are needed
- Access arranged with the tenant or the property manager
How we do it
- 01Book the propertyGive us the address and the tenant or agent contact. We arrange a time and confirm it with you.
- 02The check itselfAbout an hour on site. The power is off briefly while the safety switches are tested.
- 03Report sentThe written report goes to you or your agent, usually within two business days.
- 04Repairs if neededAnything unsafe is flagged on the day. Repairs are quoted separately and done only with your approval.
