Multi-head systems

from $5,200 installed

A multi-head system runs two to five indoor units from a single outdoor unit. It is the answer when there is nowhere sensible to put three separate outdoor units, such as a terrace, a townhouse or a unit with one small courtyard. Each room keeps its own remote and temperature. It costs more than separate splits, so we will tell you honestly if separate units would suit you better.

What is included

  • Site visit to plan pipe routes and unit positions
  • One outdoor unit sized for the rooms it serves
  • Two to five indoor wall units, each with its own remote
  • Electrical connection by a licensed electrician
  • Pressure test, vacuum and commissioning of every head

Signs you need this

  • There is only room for one outdoor unit at your place
  • The owners corporation limits what can go on outside walls
  • You want cooling in three bedrooms without three outdoor units
  • Separate units would mean long, visible pipe runs

How we do it

  1. Plan the pipe runs

We work out where each indoor unit goes and how the pipes reach the outdoor unit without ugly ducting.

  2. Compare the options

You see a written price for multi-head next to the price for separate splits, with the trade-offs explained.

  3. Install and conceal

Most jobs take one to two days. Pipes run through the roof space or in colour-matched covers.

  4. Test each room

Every head is run on heating and cooling, and each drain is checked before we pack up.
