What people ask before they book

It is $220 fixed for a single-storey house and $290 for two storeys, including GST. That covers the roof, the gutters and a look in the roof space where there is safe access. You get a photo report the next working day with a fixed price for any repair. If you go ahead with the repair within 30 days, the inspection fee comes off the bill.

We call back the same day. Inspections are usually booked within the week, and storm leaks go to the front of the queue. The one thing we cannot do is work on a wet roof, because it is not safe. If it is still raining, we come on the first dry morning. Until then, put a bucket under the drip and move what you can out of the way.

Yes. After the inspection you get one price in writing, and that is what you pay. Sometimes lifting tiles shows something nobody could see from above, such as rotten battens. If that happens we stop, send you photos and agree a price for the extra work before we go any further. You are never billed for something you did not approve.

Most of the time it can be repaired. A tiled roof with sound tiles and failed mortar needs rebedding and repointing, not a new roof. We suggest replacement when the tiles are too brittle to walk on, when an iron roof has rusted through along the laps, or when repairs would cost more than they are worth. The report shows you the photos either way, so you can judge for yourself.

Yes. Metal roofing, gutters, downpipes and flashing are roof plumbing work in Victoria, and ours is done by roof plumbers licensed by the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC). Roof plumbing work valued at $750 or more comes with a compliance certificate. The crew is trained for working at heights and we carry public liability insurance. Licence details and a certificate of currency are available on request before we start.

Repairs carry a 12 month written warranty on workmanship. Full rebed and repoint jobs and re-roofs carry 5 years. Materials such as Colorbond steel are also covered by the manufacturer's own warranty. If something we fixed leaks inside the warranty period, we come back and put it right at our cost. The warranty is written on your invoice, so there is no arguing about it later.

We are based in Coburg and work in Pascoe Vale, Brunswick, Brunswick East, Thornbury, Preston and Reservoir. If you are a street or two outside those suburbs, ring and ask. We keep the area small on purpose, so we can get back quickly when the weather turns.

You do not need to be home for an inspection if we can reach the roof from the street or the side gate. For a look in the roof space we need to come inside, so we book a time that suits you. Repairs are paid when the job is finished and you have seen the after photos. Larger jobs have a payment schedule written into the quote, so you know the dates and amounts before you say yes.
