Tile and metal roof repairs for the bungalows and weatherboards of Coburg. We inspect, send you a photo report, and give you a fixed price before anyone lifts a tile.
Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. Saturdays by arrangement. Storm leaks get a call back the same day. Nobody works on a wet roof.
How we work
No track-record boasts here. These are the four things we do on every job.
You see what we saw on the roof, marked up and explained, before you decide anything.
The repair price is written down and agreed before a single tile is lifted.
Roof plumbing work valued at $750 or more comes with a compliance certificate, as Victorian rules require.
Workmanship is warranted in writing. If our repair leaks, we come back and fix it at our cost.
What we do
Tiles, metal, gutters and the joins between them. Each job starts with a look and a fixed price.
We find where the water gets in, show you the photo, and fix it at an agreed price.
Ridge caps rebedded and repointed, broken tiles replaced, valleys cleared.
Old tiles or tired iron stripped and replaced with Colorbond steel by licensed roof plumbers.
Rusted gutters replaced, the fall set right, and a downpipe added where one is missing.
A full look at the roof and a photo report in plain words, sent the next working day.
Leaks at chimneys, valleys and skylights fixed by replacing the metal, not by adding sealant.
How it works
We check the roof, the gutters and the roof space, and photograph every fault we find.
The next working day you get the photos with plain notes on what is urgent and what can wait.
One fixed price for the repair, in writing. You choose how much of it to do, and when.
We book a dry day, do the work, clean out the gutters and send photos of the finished job.

From customers
“Stain in the front bedroom for two winters and two blokes who couldn't find it. Pitchwell sent a photo of a cracked ridge cap about three metres up from the stain. Fixed the same week and it has been dry since.”
“Back gutter used to pour over the laundry door every storm. They rehung it and added a second downpipe, then ran a hose through it to show me. Price was what the quote said.”
“Got the inspection before we bid on a place in Thornbury. The report said which tiles were urgent and which could wait a couple of years, with photos. Handy to have at the auction.”
Questions
Straight answers on price, timing, licences and warranty.
It is $220 fixed for a single-storey house and $290 for two storeys, including GST. That covers the roof, the gutters and a look in the roof space where there is safe access. You get a photo report the next working day with a fixed price for any repair. If you go ahead with the repair within 30 days, the inspection fee comes off the bill.
We call back the same day. Inspections are usually booked within the week, and storm leaks go to the front of the queue. The one thing we cannot do is work on a wet roof, because it is not safe. If it is still raining, we come on the first dry morning. Until then, put a bucket under the drip and move what you can out of the way.
Yes. After the inspection you get one price in writing, and that is what you pay. Sometimes lifting tiles shows something nobody could see from above, such as rotten battens. If that happens we stop, send you photos and agree a price for the extra work before we go any further. You are never billed for something you did not approve.
Most of the time it can be repaired. A tiled roof with sound tiles and failed mortar needs rebedding and repointing, not a new roof. We suggest replacement when the tiles are too brittle to walk on, when an iron roof has rusted through along the laps, or when repairs would cost more than they are worth. The report shows you the photos either way, so you can judge for yourself.

Roof notes
What to check from the ground, what it means, and when to pick up the phone.
Most roof leaks give weeks of warning in places people do not look. Here is what to check with your feet on the floor, and when to stop and call.
It is the most common job on a tiled roof in the inner north, and the most often misquoted. Here is what the words mean and what to look for from the street.
The back gutter pours over in every storm and the front is fine. Sometimes it is leaves. Often cleaning makes no difference, and this is why.
