Upgrades and extra panels
Houses change. You add a heat pump, an induction cooktop or an electric car, and the small system from ten years ago no longer keeps up. Adding to an old system is not always as simple as bolting on more panels, because matching panels are often no longer made and the new work has to meet current rules. Often the better answer is a second system beside the first. We also check your export limit before we design anything.
What is included
- A check of your existing panels, inverter and remaining roof space
- A design that either extends the system or adds a second one alongside
- Export limit and distributor approval checked before you commit
- STCs for the added panels taken off the price where the system is eligible
- New panels and inverter from the Clean Energy Council approved products list
- Certificate of Electrical Safety and updated system documents
Signs you need this
- Your solar is 3 kW or smaller and the household now uses far more power
- You have bought, or are about to buy, an electric car
- You are replacing gas heating or hot water with electric
- There is an unused roof face that gets good sun
- You still buy a lot of power from the grid on sunny days
How we do it
More panels for a house that now uses more power, done so the old system still works.
- 01
Review what is there
We look at the age and condition of your current system and what your bills say you now use.
- 02
Design the upgrade
You get a layout showing where new panels go and whether the old inverter stays, with a fixed price.
- 03
Approval and install
We lodge the application with your distributor, then install, usually in a day.
Find out what your roof could make
Send a recent power bill and your address. You get an honest estimate and a fixed price, and no one turns up to pressure you.
