Questions

What people ask before they book

Cost, timing, licensing and warranty, answered the way we would on the phone.

How much will it cost?

The call-out is $120 and includes the first half hour on site, which is enough to diagnose most problems and fix the small ones. For anything bigger you get one written price for parts and labour before we start. Most repairs land between $280 and $650. Blocked drains start from $220, tap and toilet repairs from $160, and a like-for-like hot water changeover from $1,650 installed. All prices include GST.

How fast can you come out?

Burst pipes, sewage overflows, gas smells and no hot water are treated as urgent, and we aim to attend the same day. Other jobs are usually booked within two or three working days. Either way you get a two-hour arrival window and a text when the plumber is on the way.

Do I pay anything if I decide not to go ahead?

You pay the $120 call-out, which covers the plumber's visit and the first half hour of finding the fault. If you do not like the price for the repair, that is all you owe. You keep the photos and the written quote, and there is no pressure to decide on the spot.

Do you come out after hours?

Yes, for urgent problems. The phone is answered until 9 pm every day. After-hours call-outs are $220 and include the first half hour. If the job can safely wait until morning, we will tell you how to isolate the water or gas and book you in for the next day at the normal rate.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Our plumbers are licensed by the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) for the classes of work they carry out, including gasfitting, and the work is covered by the insurance that licensed plumbers in Victoria are required to hold. Licence details and a certificate of currency are available on request before we start.

What warranty do you give?

Twelve months on our workmanship, written on your invoice. If a repair we made fails in that time, we come back and fix it at no charge. Parts and appliances such as hot water systems carry their own manufacturer's warranty, and we handle the claim for anything we supplied. This sits alongside your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Which suburbs do you cover?

Brunswick, Brunswick East, Coburg, Pascoe Vale, Thornbury, Northcote and Preston. We keep the area small so we can keep the arrival windows we give. If you are a street or two outside it, call and ask.

Will I get a compliance certificate?

Yes, where one is required. In Victoria a compliance certificate is issued for plumbing work valued at $750 or more, and for gas work as the regulations require. We lodge it and you receive a copy. Keep it with your house papers, because buyers and insurers sometimes ask for it.

Got a leak, a blockage or no hot water?

Tell us what is happening and we will call you back to book a time. The price is agreed in writing before any work starts.
