Hot water systems
No hot water is usually one failed part: a thermocouple, an element, a thermostat or a valve. We test before we recommend anything, and if a repair makes sense on a newer tank, we repair it. When the cylinder itself is leaking it has to be replaced. We fit gas storage, continuous flow, electric and heat pump systems, take the old one away, and temper the hot water to 50 degrees at bathroom outlets on new installs.
What is included
- Fault testing before any recommendation
- Supply and installation of the new system
- New tempering valve, set to 50 degrees for bathrooms
- Old heater disconnected and taken away
- Compliance certificate for the installation
- Straight advice on gas, electric or heat pump for your house
Signs you need this
- Hot water running out sooner than it used to
- Water pooling or rust stains at the base of the tank
- A pilot light that keeps going out
- Lukewarm water at every tap in the house
- Rumbling or banging from the tank as it heats
How we do it
-
Test first
We check the power or gas supply, the valves and the tank itself to find what has actually failed.
-
Price the options
You get a written price to repair and a price to replace, with our view on which one is worth your money.
-
Install
Most like-for-like changeovers take two to four hours. Heat pumps and relocations take longer.
-
Commission
We check temperatures at the taps, test and commission gas appliances, and show you how the system works.
